The Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin-Dahlem publishes two serials (Willdenowia and Englera), the garden's Index Seminum and special publications dedicated to the garden and the museum exhibitions.

Willdenowia, appearing with two issues per year in a print edition and an open access online edition, is a peer-reviewed journal with an international authorship, publishing original research papers in English on plant taxonomy, plant systematics, floristics and plant geography.

The precursor of Willdenowia was founded in 1895 as Notizblatt des Königlichen Botanischen Gartens und Museums zu Berlin to publish information about the institution's collections and activities, and research contributions from its staff and associated botanists. In 1953, after the fatal destruction of much of the institution's collections and facilities in World War II, it was revived, initially as Mitteilungen aus dem botanischen Garten und Museum Berlin-Dahlem, then with its present title commemorating Carl Ludwig Willdenow (1765-1812, director of the Botanic Garden and first professor of botany in Berlin).

JSTOR provides a digital archive of the print edition of Willdenowia (with a moving wall of three years), of its precursors and of the former Beihefte.

Englera, is a monographic series, publishing peer-reviewed original papers from the entire field of plant taxonomy, plant systematics, floristics, plant geography and history of botany, provided that they are monographic in approach and of considerable volume.

Its title commemorates Adolf Engler (1844-1930), professor of Botany in Berlin and Director of the Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin 1889-1921, internationally renowned for his contributions to taxonomy and plant geography.
