The BGBM's Garden Accessions Database

Between 1991 and 1993 a compiled dBase program served as a prototype for the Accessions system. In 1995 to 1996, a new prototype was produced in the course of a diploma thesis  (E. Elankovan and H. Meyer, Technical University Berlin, WBS, Prof. Konrad, supervised by W. Berendsohn; document in German) and several small contracts.  During a 1 year, 4 person project which started in July 1998 the database and the program was completely converted to Access 97 and more than half of the indexed species were entered.
From May 1, 2000 to June 30, 2002, a 2 year project finalized the input of accession records and provided a scalable program for botanical garden record management. The project was financed by the German Federal Ministry of Research under the Biolog Programme.
