Curriculum:

1994-1999 Bachelor in Biology at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Honduras. Monograph: Ethnoecology and commercialization of Smilax, La Paz, Honduras.

2000-2003 Master in Biology at Costa Rica University. Thesis: Taxonomy, phenology and phylogeny of Smilax (Smilacaceae) in Costa Rica, with systematic implications.

Since 2006 DAAD scholarship at the BGBM, Freie Universität Berlin.

Research interests and projects:

  • Taxonomy of vascular plants
  • Molecular systematics
  • Flora of Cuba, contributor to Smilacaceae
  • Project: “Morphology and phylogeny of Smilax in Mesoamerica and the Caribbean using molecular and morphological data”
