For distribution studies (GIS and distribution maps) some Lat Long coordinates recalculated by the compilers. At the end of 2001, about 240.000 sheets recorded.

Source description	The database contains data on the distribution of freshwater snails and mussels in the country of Salzburg, Austria.For the mapping an extension of ArcView (=BioMapper©) was developed. This programme includes a bundle of tools (Avenue scripts and Visual Basic forms) and a customized interface of ArcView. Species distribution data are stored in MSAccess. The following data are given: species name, type of occurrence (living, only shell), abundance (0 – 4), type of water, coordinates, altitude, current, turbidity, in some cases chemical data.Most of the material is stored (alcohol). Stage November 2001: 910 sites with 3168 data on species.
