About us

The Botanic Garden Berlin is committed to the goals of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC) and conducts research, education and species protection to promote these goals. The Dahlem Seed Bank provides seeds on an exchange basis to other institutions that are also committed to these goals. The Index Seminum of Botanical Gardens has been a tried and tested tool for decades. The seeds are not for sale. They are only made available for research, teaching, education and conservation.
