Curriculum vitae 
  • 2001 - 2006 studies of biology at the University of Bonn with focus on evolutionary biology and botany
  • 2006-2011 research assistant at the Nees Institute for Biodiversity of plants, University of Bonn
  • 2008-2011 phD studies with thesis on the phylogeny and evolution of the epiphytic Rhipsalideae (Cactaceae) at the Nees Institute for Biodiversity of plants, University of Bonn
  • Since 2011 scientific staff member at the Botanic Garden and Botanical Museum Berlin at Freie Universität Berlin
Research interests 

Evolution, systematics and taxonomy of flowering plants, especially of the order Caryophyllales; Molecular phylogenetics, biodiversity of the Caucasus, integrative taxonomy, taxonomic checklists, synthesis of taxonomic information.

Research projects 
  • Developing Tools for conserving the Plant diversity of the Transcaucasus (coordination 2011-2019)
  • Phylogenetics and taxonomy of selected genera from the Caucasus (e.g. Pyrus, Papaver, Dianthus, Gleditsia, in collaboration with partners from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia)
  • Phylogentic studies of epiphytic Cactaceae
  • Coordination Global Caryophyllales Initiative
