Systematic Section of Herbaceous Plants

 

In this section 1000 plant species are arranged following Adolf Engler's classification system. This shows the tremendous variation of colour and shape, apparent even among plants within the same family whose members all have the same basic characteristics. Try to find out what the fundamental features of the families of Brassicaceae, Labiatae or Compositae are, and how this basic “Bauplan” is varied by their members!
